Factory reset for full lock-down
Start from a clean Android setup so Nesty can become the device owner.
Nesty PC Link
For full lock-down, the tablet must be factory reset first. Then use the QR code from the Android welcome screen. If that route does not work, download the desktop installer below.
Android 14+ only.
Recommended first-time setup
This is the cleanest full lock-down route. Full lock-down needs a factory reset first, and the tablet must have an internet connection during Android setup.
Android may say the tablet is managed and not private. That wording comes from Android's fully managed mode. Nesty uses it so a parent can protect settings and app access. Nesty is not intended for spying on children.
Start from a clean Android setup so Nesty can become the device owner.
Do this on the first Android welcome screen before Google sign-in. Android should open enterprise setup and ask for Wi-Fi when it needs it.
Android downloads Nesty, provisions the tablet, then opens Nesty straight into protected family setup. If this does not work, download the desktop installer below.
If the QR code is not ready, use the Windows app below as the fallback path.
Fallback
Use the desktop installer when the 6-tap QR route does not open, when QR provisioning fails, when you want a direct USB install, or later when you need to update or remove Nesty on a locked tablet.
Alternative browser route
This route still works for first-time setup or recovery in Chrome or Edge on desktop, but QR is the cleaner path for a fresh full-protection install.
Do not leave this page while setup is running.
Connect the tablet with a USB cable to begin.
Nesty finished the lock-down and handed control back to the app.
Connect the tablet and try again.
The lighter keep-files path preserves personal data, but older children may still be able to work around some of its limits.
This clears Nesty's saved browser key on this PC. After that, on the tablet open Developer options, revoke USB debugging authorisations, unplug and reconnect the cable, then press Try again.
For full lock-down, reset the tablet first, then use the QR code from the Android welcome screen. If that does not work, download the desktop installer.
QR only works during Android setup on a freshly reset tablet. Tap the same spot on the first welcome screen 6 times before Google sign-in, then connect to Wi-Fi when Android asks.
If you use browser USB instead, turn on USB debugging and keep the tablet unlocked while setup runs.
If Nesty is already installed and you want a newer build, use the desktop installer above and run Update Nesty there.
