Factory reset for full lock-down
Start from a clean Android setup so Android can hand the child tablet fully over to Nesty.
Nesty PC Link
For full lock-down, the parent signs in with Google first, fills in the family and child tablet details here, then scans the device-specific QR code from the Android welcome screen. Internet access is required on the tablet during Android setup.
Suitable for Android 14 and newer only. Do not use this full-protection installer on tablets running Android 13 or below.
Recommended first-time setup
This is the cleanest full lock-down route. Sign in with the parent or guardian Google account first, add the family and tablet details here, then reset and scan. Internet access on the tablet is required during Android setup, and the QR code stays tied to that same parent account so you can add multiple devices later.
Android may say the tablet is managed and not private. That wording comes from Android's fully managed mode. Nesty uses it so a parent can protect settings and app access. Nesty is not intended for spying on children.
The Android-managed step should stay short. Nesty should take over straight after that handoff, not leave the parent hunting for the app manually.
Step 1
Use the same Google account for every child tablet you manage here. Nesty will use it to keep family records, device QR codes, and alerts tied to the right parent.
Google is the only sign-in method for this full-protection QR route.
This Google account can hold multiple families and child tablets from this page.
Cloud
Nesty is checking whether full Android managed protection is connected and ready for kiosk QR codes.
Step 3
Start from a clean Android setup so Android can hand the child tablet fully over to Nesty.
Do this on the first Android welcome screen before Google sign-in. On some tablets, especially Lenovo builds, the QR scanner appears only after very fast repeated taps. Android will ask for internet access when it needs it.
Android downloads and protects the tablet, then should hand off straight into Nesty. If the build fails on your tablet, send us the device make and model and use the Play app version until we have fixed that device build.
Sign in with Google, add the family and child tablet details, then the QR code here becomes specific to that tablet. Internet access on the child tablet is required during Android setup.
Fallback
If this full-protection build does not complete on your tablet, please send the device make and model to Nesty support. Until that device is fixed, use the Nesty Play app version on that tablet instead.
Once submitted, we will use the device details to reproduce the failure and endeavour to fix the build for that model.
Do not leave this page while setup is running.
Connect the tablet with a USB cable to begin.
Nesty finished the lock-down and handed control back to the app.
Connect the tablet and try again.
The lighter keep-files path preserves personal data, but older children may still be able to work around some of its limits.
This clears Nesty's saved browser key on this PC. After that, on the tablet open Developer options, revoke USB debugging authorisations, unplug and reconnect the cable, then press Try again.
For full lock-down, sign in with the parent Google account here first, add the family and child tablet details, then reset the tablet and use the QR code from the Android welcome screen.
QR only works during Android setup on a freshly reset tablet. On some tablets you need to tap the same spot on the first Android welcome screen 10 to 15 times quickly before Google sign-in.
Internet access on the child tablet is required during Android setup so Android can download and start Nesty.
If this full-protection build fails on your device, send us the tablet make and model. Until then, use the Nesty Play app version for that tablet.
